** REGISTER FOR FALL 2020 SOCCER - VISIT OUR NEW WEBSITE
Hello SCOR Family,
As we have navigated this unprecedented pandemic, we have all had to make some very hard decisions that have kept us from playing soccer in our community. On behalf of the SCOR Board, we thank you for your patience and understanding regarding the ultimate cancellation of the spring soccer season. We also ask you for more patience and understanding as we move forward on plans for a Fall season.
First and foremost, we will continue to abide by all guidelines and restrictions set forth by the State of CT and our governing body, CJSA. As you know the State of CT is reopening in phases. These phases are designed to ease our way back into soccer, allowing children to resume soccer in a safe manner. Currently, the State of CT is in Phase 2 of re-opening, with Phase 3 expected to be announced soon. Therefore, Ridgefield town fields are open to sports and SCOR is allowed to resume play and will plan on a Fall season. (For summer camps, please see Team Excel Soccer)
Phase 2: this phase allows for continuation of the best practices safety protocols to reduce the spread of COVID-19 put in place in Phase 1 but with the allowance of full team practices and “highly controlled” intra-squad scrimmaging.
Phase 3: this phase includes a full training environment as well as scrimmages/matches and allows for in-state only matches against neighboring towns with minimal contact.
Phase 4: this phase allows for resumption of youth soccer as we knew it prior to COVID-19. There may be additional phasing and/or preventative measures in play dependent on counsel from the State of CT and CJSA dependent on what the future holds.
Secondly, we are opening registration for the Fall SCOR season with the understanding that the kids will get to play soccer in House, Academy, Travel and Premier programs. However, in order to play soccer safely, there will be COVID-19 protocols in place as well as the requirement for each player to complete a COVID-19 waiver. Our governing body, CJSA provides us with insurance and failure to comply with phase protocols would result in a cancellation of the season. The registration details of the programs will be sent in a SCOR Registration email shortly.
And if a pandemic wasn't enough to deal with, SCOR had to migrate to the new Soccer Connect platform as the prior platform was no longer supported by our governing body, CJSA. However, the new platform is very user friendly and even has an accompanying mobile application (real time field updates via your phone!) We are excited to launch the new SCOR website here. Each SCOR family will have to initially register all their information, but going forward, we expect a more satisfactory user experience.
We understand that there is alot to take in and digest. Feel free to reach out to our COVID-19 Director, Emily Mills at
with COVID-19 questions and to our Registrar, Hillary Lust
for registration questions.
The safety and well-being of all our families, players, and participants is always paramount. The SCOR Board hopes everyone in the SCOR family is safe and healthy and we look forward to a successful Fall season.
In order to play Soccer this summer/fall we must comply to the rules of the State of CT and our soccer governing body CJSA. Without compliance we loose our insurance and the kids will not be able to play. Our own Vice President of the Board, Emily Mills, created a presentation that explains how we stay in compliance.
