What is House?
It is SCOR's philosophy that players develop best when exposed to a variety of teammates and coaches. All team assignments are based on this philosophy. Coaches will, at the beginning of the season, provide players with game schedules. Players will hear from their assigned coaches a week before the start of the season, or sooner. If you have not heard during this approximate time frame,
.
House teams practice one day during the week, at a designated practice time (except PreK, K and 1st Grade who do not have practices). All House games are scheduled on Saturdays between 8 AM and 2 PM, the exceptions being make-ups or Jamborees.
House Coach Information
It is difficult to formulate a step-by-step approach to learning how to play soccer, because the learning process depends largely on practice. Soccer is best learned by playing, and the time children spend playing the game is important for their soccer development. Lack of time is probably enemy number one as far as learning to play soccer is concerned. Nowadays, soccer is experienced in an environment controlled and organized by adults with games and drills devised, started and stopped by a coach.
Volunteers
In the pursuit of its commitment to excellence, SCOR is heavily dependent on members willing to share of themselves. If you are interested in volunteering your time as a coach, assistant coach, manager of a team, or in any other way, please use our contact page.
Equipment
All players MUST, in practice and in game play, wear shin guards and soccer shoes. Sneakers are acceptable footwear in K & sG Patrol only. The SCOR/CJSA player insurance is only 100% applicable for players wearing proper equipment. As representatives of SCOR on the field, Coaches and Managers must enforce this safety requirement. In addition, players should bring water, a bag to put their things in (optional), and a soccer ball appropriate to their Division.
- Ball Size #3 for Pre-K, K and 1st Grade
- Ball Size #4 for 2nd to 6th Grade
- Ball Size #5 for 7th Grade and above
For the safety of all players, jewelry is not allowed during practice and play.
